Could this be done with a Glock pistol?
RDG78: Being a Machinist, I can safely tell you that yes, you can replace any part on any firearm with Titanium. However, it will still trigger a metal detector just as well as a gun built with all-steel components. A lot of idiots (mainly anti-gunners) got the wild idea that Polymer framed firearms such as the ones produced by Glock could escape detection from a metal detector or similar detection systems. An X-ray machine would definitely pick up on anything of that *caliber* (heh heh... I made a funny...). I'm pretty sure there are corporations that make Titanium components for most all of the firearms on the market. If given the stock, any competent machinist (myself, for example), with a couple hours on hand, could produce high quality replacement parts made from Titanium. I really don't see the point to titanium though... yes it's light, but it flexes something crazy... not very rigid. That and it's a pain in the a** to machine.
