Direct TV - Sales and Customer Support Blew it?
With two weeks to go and an HD TV, I called Direct TV to sign up, hopefully in time for the Super Bowl Party at my house. Sales lady made a great deal, said "no problem" to install before game and probably that week. Then end of phone call she has MYSTERIOUS computer glitch and cannot tell me install date-"they will call to make appt." No call and One week later (one week before the game) I call - after testy discussion, person #2 says person #1 was just "making the sale", install appt WAS made -February 4th - the Mon. after the game. Huh. Forgetful or liar? I got mad ,demanded explanation. She put me on hold 30 min. and hung up on me. NICE. I called back and cancelled. After reading these posts,now I'm scared they 'll hit me with some cancellation charge? So here I am ratting them out. My TIVO works perfectly, My reliable Bellsouth fiber optic - out once in 15 years. No thanks, Direct. Anyone else have this one??
