Extreme Home Makeover show?

What do you think about the mansion they built for the "needy" family in Georgia in 2005 that is now in foreclosure because the family used it as collateral on a $450,000 loan for a business and then lost it? I watch this show alot and I always thought it was touching. Now I wonder if this family was even in need in the first place or were they just ignorant in their choices? What do you think?
